What is the meaning of festivals?

While we are always capturing photos and posting them onto Instagram, what is really the real meaning behind the festival anymore? Hashtags and location check-ins. Do we really celebrate festivals with our loved ones anymore? Or are we just posting pictures that we think look good onto Instagram?
